Senior Systems Administrator (Informatica)

Job Description: Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

 

The Senior Informatica Application Administrator: This position is dedicated to the support of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) Enterprise Human Resource application and related systems located at the Lockheed Martin Denver Data Center, supporting over 800,000+ DoD civilian personnel records and users.  DCPDS is a highly available, mission critical, computing infrastructure in which the candidate must be willing to work on a team of multiple administrators supporting a 7X24 on call rotating schedule.  The candidate must be capable of working in a fast paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks.  The successful Candidate will perform Informatica Application Administration duties, including:

1.  Tool software installation and maintenance

  • Download Informatica patches
  • Install Informatica patches on Linux systems
  • Configure Informatica tools

2.  Account creation

  • Add users to Informatica instances
  • Unlock users if required
  • Remove users as needed

3.  Privilege management

  • Create and maintain groups
  • Assign users to groups

4.  Code and Object Migrations

  • Export code (profiles, objects, etc.) from repositories
  • Import Code into repositories
  • Validate imported objects
  • Identify errors (Correct errors & Return code to developers for correction)

5.  Profile Execution

  • Run profiles on DevTest, SQT and/or Production instances

6.  Create resulting reports and/or data files

7.  Monitor Informatica processes

8.  Correct Informatica errors

9.  Review/maintain Informatica logs

 

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Implements and monitors Information Assurance procedures.  
  • Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance.
  • Ensures server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Enforces standard operating procedures.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Linux Administration (including, Shell scripting; Basic knowledge of Linux processes and processing; Basic troubleshooting; File maintenance; and Process Monitoring
  • Basic SQL*Plus (Oracle) capabilities
  • Familiarity with Informatica
  • Understand database connectivity requirements
  • Basic understanding of LDAP
  • Effective interpersonal skills and team oriented individual
  • Possess an active DOD Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) in order to obtain a DOD IT-1 designation in a Position of Trust
  • Possess Security+ CE certification (or higher) or must be able to acquire within 6 months of start

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Critical thinker who can work and engineer solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of working on systems in a controlled environment with configuration management oversight (software releases, implementing standard configurations, etc.)
  • STIG checklist review/mitigation

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline,
  • or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience;
  • or 3 year of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
